Elaine Nicol
Road Maintenance Manager, North LanarkshireElaine Nicol is the Road Maintenance Manager for North Lanarkshire Council. Qualified in Civil Engineering, Elaine has over 33 years’ experience in the industry with around 26 of those years being in local government.
Predominately focused on road maintenance activities, including winter maintenance, Elaine has experience in both roads client and operational units.
Having recently moved to North Lanarkshire Council three years ago, she is overseeing changes in all road maintenance practices which will support NLC’s Climate Plan – Action on Climate Together 2030.
Elaine has worked closely with Amey throughout the development of the successful Live Labs Centre of Excellence for Decarbonising Roads project, a joint programme delivered by the Department for Transport and ADEPT.
