Neil Ferguson

Senior Lecturer in Transport Engineering, University of Strathclyde

Dr Neil Ferguson is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Civil and Environmental. Engineering at the University of Strathclyde and a Chartered Civil Engineer. His main research interests are in the vulnerability and resilience of transport networks to disruption, particularly extreme weather events, and has expertise in transport modelling and accessibility analysis.

His work has been funded by the EPSRC, MRC, NERC, the Scottish Government, Scottish Roads Research Board, ClimateXChange and industry.

His work includes modelling the recovery of a transport network from concurrent incidents and the development of indicators to monitor adaptation to climate change for use in the assessment of the Scottish Climate Change Adaptation Programme.
