Qi Managed Services | AISIN RoadTrace
Helping Scotland lead the future of connected vehicle road safety intelligence.
Qi Managed Services, working in partnership with AISIN RoadTrace, is supporting Scottish local authorities in transforming how road safety risks are identified, understood and addressed.
Traditional road safety analysis relies heavily on historical collision records. Connected vehicle data provides a new opportunity to identify emerging risks and intervene before serious collisions occur.
Through our growing work with Scottish local authorities, we are helping establish a more proactive, consistent and evidence-led approach to road safety.
Our connected vehicle intelligence includes:
Predictive KSI Risk Analysis: Identifying locations with elevated risk of fatal and serious injury collisions, including locations without significant historical collision records.
Harsh Braking Intelligence: Analysing real-world harsh braking events to identify potential hazards, emerging hotspots and changes in road user behaviour.
Vehicle Speed and Mobility Data: Understanding actual vehicle speeds, including average and 85th percentile speeds, to support speed management and road safety interventions.
Road Safety Investment Prioritisation: Helping local authorities identify and prioritise engineering interventions using evidence of risk, supporting more effective allocation of available funding.
Data Visualisation and Technical Support: Providing accessible mapping, analytical tools and ongoing workshops to help road safety teams turn intelligence into practical decisions.
Supporting Scotland's Road Safety Framework to 2030
Our approach supports Scotland's ambition to eliminate fatalities and serious injuries from its roads by 2050, with interim targets established through the Road Safety Framework to 2030.
By combining connected vehicle intelligence with existing collision records and local knowledge, Qi and AISIN RoadTrace help road authorities move beyond reactive collision analysis towards proactive risk identification and prevention.
We believe Scotland has an opportunity to become a leading example of how connected vehicle data can support a coordinated, evidence-led approach to road safety across local authority networks.
