POLYbridge™
POLYbridge™
POLYdeck’s GRP bridges are made in a unique way utilising aggregate, resins, glass mat and a structural foam core made from recycled plastic bottles. Each square metre of foam which goes into our planks, rails and posts uses approximately 140 recycled 500ml plastic bottles. The products are manufactured inside a special mould and emerge with a unique timber deck and also castellated finish. The products really do look like timber, but unlike timber, they won’t rot or degrade. Typically timber footbridges will last 5-8 years, depending on whether it is hard or soft wood. Polydeck’s Polybridges will last in excess of 75 years, which means reduced need for replacement bridges, reduced cost in life and also a lower carbon footprint.
POLYwalk™
POLYwalk™
Polydeck’s GRP boardwalks are made in the same way as our bridges and comprise decking planks which are fixed on a pultruded GRP sub-structure. POLYwalk™ boardwalks are designed to replace traditional timber structures which rot and become unsafe to use. The unique GRP structure ensures that our boards and sub-frame will not rot over time and provide an anti-slip walking surface for pedestrians and cyclists. Ideal for use in forests, wetlands and walkways along the coast, where the damp environment can very quickly destroy a traditional timber structure. Just like our bridges, POLYwalks boardwalks are hard to distinguish from natural timber and so blend into the natural environment.
POLYplank™
POLYplank™
Polydeck’s GRP decking planks have been designed to replace traditional timber planks which can be slippery when wet, and rot in a short space of time. POLYplanks are made by combining a structural foam made from recycled plastic bottles encapsulated within a GRP outer layer. The product is made in a closed mould with an integral hard-wearing aggregate, to ensure a design life in excess of 75 years. Available in a range of colours and finishes, the planks will span up to 1200mm whilst achieving a pedestrian crowd load of 5kN per SqM UDL.
