Active Road Studs
Active Road Studs improve safety, reduce accidents, and provide clear delineation for road and path users whilst providing Environmental benefit solutions.
Our active road studs use built-in sensors to automatically illuminate at dusk and turn off in daylight, unlike retro reflective roads studs that require direct beams from headlights to be visible. LEDs in active studs provide enhanced visibility up to 900 meters, which is 10 times the distance offered by retro reflectors, giving drivers more time to react to changes on the road whilst improving safety for all road users at night.

Connex
Connex Traffic is the latest generation of automatic traffic counter designed to provide a high degree of flexibility and accuracy.
Based on Clearview’s Connex Modular Hardware platform, Connex Traffic offers both inductive loop and wireless sensor options for real-time count and classification, enabling deployment in a variety of environments and applications.
Designed from the ground up, for ease of integration utilising open industry standard data formats and communication protocols, the base system provides 16 inductive loops and two internal module slots for different combinations of communications or sensors. Connex Traffic incorporates machine learning technology to provide a higher degree of classification when using inductive loops for data collection.
Communication options include support for the latest low power LTE-M and NB-IoT technologies alongside 2/4G, PoE and RS232/485.
Connex Traffic provides additional functionality to enable the intelligent control of external devices such as Variable Message Signs (VMS) via the General Purpose I/O port and Programmable Logic Controller. This combination of external control and logic enables Connex Traffic to form the backbone of innovative solutions to monitor and inform of potential hazards such as queuing vehicles, turning vehicles and tailgating.
Insight Parking
The typical driver spends over 100 days of their life searching for a parking space, time that could be spent elsewhere: with family and friends, running errands, shopping, working, starting meetings on schedule… The hunt for a parking space can be stressful and put people off shopping or visiting certain places. In addition, time spent driving around looking for parking impacts air quality due to unnecessary vehicle emissions. Parking intelligence is an increasingly useful tool for car park operators and managers keen to influence driver behaviour for the benefit of the environment, as well as the drivers themselves, local authorities, and employers.
Our Insight Parking application and vehicle sensors help our clients understand how a car park is being used at all times of the day so informed decisions can be made about how this valuable asset is managed.
Our system can also empower users of car parks to make better decisions by sharing capacity information with them before they start their journey.
Working with operators, we can provide parking solutions that highlight patterns of use, demonstrating when peak and quiet periods can be expected. This insight can guide optimum staffing levels or provide charging flexibility.
For large corporate, health and higher education car parks, access to predictions or even live-feed information about capacity makes a huge difference to staff and visitors alike. It enables them to plan journey times, make alternate working arrangements, find available spaces quickly and commute to a schedule that works best for them.
M680 Vehicle Count and Classification
The M680 is the latest generation of traffic count/classification device based on inductive loop technology. Available in a variety of configurations and supporting a number of additional interface options, the M680 offers unparalleled flexibility from a single platform. From monitoring of a single lane traffic through to 8 lane motorways with both piezo sensors and inductive loops, the M680 is a versatile platform that support a vast range of applications including vehicle in/out counts from car parks, to comprehensive traffic flow monitoring through vehicle count and vehicle classification. The M680 captures vehicle count as well as Vehicle by Vehicle (VbV) data including class, direction, gap, speed, length, axle count, axle separation and headway.
Thanks to its robust design and IP67 rated enclosure, the M680 delivers unrivalled levels of accuracy, reliability and ruggedness meaning you can be confident of year round operation. The M680 can collect data on each vehicle for scheduled, manual or real-time delivery over packet-based GPRS communications. Over 30 pre-defined axle and loop classification schemes including the 26- class UKNCC30 means the M680 can detect and classify a wide range of vehicle types from bicycles through to articulated lorries.
The switch I/O card option can be used to control external devices such as Variable Messaging Signs, ANPR cameras, Barriers and Gates or any device that accepts contact closure input, ideal for use in car park management applications
Air Quality Sensor
Environmental considerations such as noise, air quality, weather status and road surface temperature can be useful data streams for road network operators. Data is used to help understand the wider impact of a live road network on the environment or equally the effect of environmental factors such as weather on the road network and driver behaviour. Clearview offers a complete solution of non-invasive environmental sensors which can be used in a variety of different applications to report directly to a data collection platform for remote user analysis.
Clearview Intelligence has partnered with AQ Mesh to provide a durable, compact, outdoor air quality monitor to detect different parameters and gas pollutants that negatively impact air quality. As part of the solution, Clearview uses the environmental sensors that feed accurate data into our Insight™ platform, this can then be turned into actionable insights, in the form of reports, tables, or graphs.
AQMesh pods measure key pollutants in the surrounding air, using leading small sensor technology and proprietary data processing based on extensive global comparisons with reference data. Subsequently, the device combines a robust hardware platform that operates with wireless power and communicates using the contemporary LTE communications standard, including NB-IoT support, cloud-based data processing, and secure online access.
Insight Journey
Journey Time data is a critical asset in the road operators battle to keep the traffic flowing, reduce congestion and manage incidents on the road.
This intelligence aids operators in analysing and identifying bottlenecks within the network, monitoring roadworks and informing drivers of free-flowing traffic or potential congestion spots to enable them to make informed decisions on the route they take.
The Insight Journey is a flexible solution that empowers road operators to monitor the flow of traffic on their network and respond accordingly. The system can be deployed quickly to manage events, roadworks, and associated diversions, allowing you to keep road users updated with mobile Variable Message Signs.

Hull Stoneferry Corridor Scheme
Clearview actively collaborated with the Intelligent Transport Systems Manager at Hull City Council to identify and address these challenges faced on the Stoneferry Corridor and around the City of Hull.
Cyclist Awareness and Protection Scheme
Five intersections were identified on the Stoneferry Road for the cyclist protection solution. Connex Active and M680 products were deployed to provide both count and classification of pedestrians and cyclists. The detection of cyclists approaching a junction was also set-up to trigger intelligent road studs highlighting to both cyclists and drivers the possibility of conflict.
Ultimately, Illuminating Intelligent Road Studs (IRS2) were deployed at the five intersection junctions providing guidance to the cyclist and awareness to the drivers.
Journey Time Monitoring (JTM)
Journeytime information was provided to drivers, so they could make informed decisions and avoid congested areas. Our Insight platform provides the Journey Time information directly to 18 Variable Message Signs (VMS) as well as the network management team.
Overheight Vehicle Detection
To protect the low bridge on Stoneferry Road, Clearview installed five infra-red detection sensors at key locations. These are linked via point-to-point radio links to variable message signs (VMS) to actively detect and warn OHV drivers of the low bridge and to direct them to alternative routes.
