Angus Bodie

Local Government Executive Advisor, SOLACE

I am a Chartered Civil Engineer, Fellow of the ICE and Member of CIHT, and senior construction professional with over 30 years' experience, most of which have been providing and managing a wide range of complex public services in local government, progressing to Chief Officer level.

I am currently providing a range of business and executive advisory roles through SOLACE, having been previously engaged from 2014 by the Improvement Service to manage and drive forward the national Roads Collaboration Programme, working with all Scottish Councils and Transport Scotland to deliver the requirements of Option 30 of the National Road Maintenance Review (2012).

I am a Trustee of the Green Action Trust.

I work closely with senior roads professionals, chief executives and elected members all across Scotland, and prepared the formal response to Audit Scotland's review of Scotland's roads maintenance sector.

Previously I assisted Transport Scotland as 'Roads Co-ordinator' in their 2014 Team, responsible for ensuring that the country's road network remained fully functional and free of roadworks and other constraints during 2014. This included the transport planning around the Commonwealth Games and Ryder Cup. I successfully led the integration of the Commonwealth Games overlay onto the road network of Glasgow and provided expert assistance to the Games' Transport Operations Centre.
