Traffic Signals
Temporary traffic lights are designed to look more permanent than the portable traffic light equivalent. With temporary traffic lights from SRL, you can use them for short term traffic management where more impact is needed or as a longer-term solution.
Portable traffic lights are more compact, easily positioned and can be readily deployed and re-positioned as projects progress and evolve, based on the needs of the client.
Variable Message Signs (VMS)
Our VMS are used to support traffic management on major roads improvement schemes, urban street works, school zones, road safety campaigns and anywhere that speed enforcement and visual messaging is required.
Urban64
SRL’s Urban64® intelligent temporary system is the first, and only, standalone temporary traffic light solution to feature permanent technology, enabling site bespoke layouts for the safe flow of vehicles, cyclists and pedestrian traffic during construction phases.
It is the only intelligent temporary system to use MOVA (Microprocessor Optimised Vehicle Actuation), a sophisticated traffic control strategy, specifically designed to maximise operational efficiency of a junction.
Urban64® can replicate preceding permanent systems but because cabling is overhead it can be implemented quickly and safely whilst permanent equipment is removed, delivering cost certainty, and promoting traffic efficiency and safety. It also means layouts can be adjusted in line with the project development.
SRL’s team support schemes from initial concept to scheme completion - offering bespoke layout designs to suit the temporary works, full installation, maintenance, 24/7 call out, decommissioning, inspections and site visits.
CCTV
Improve security, remotely observe your projects, reduce manpower cost and keep personnel safe.
SRL’s Portable & temporary CCTV units can be accessed remotely via smartphone or PC using 4G connectivity and feature secure communication using multiple levels of authentication to establish encrypted communication between client and cameras.
Our CCTV units have Health Monitoring continuously which relays system status information to SRL’s technical team, ensuring your system always runs at optimum efficiency.
Multiphase ADS
SRL’s Adaptive Detection System is so intelligent and adaptive it can manage daily traffic flows by making automatic adjustments of green times easily, it does this by using deep learning algorithms to interpret the data received from our new high-accuracy radar detector (traffic/volume/speed).
It is important whether it is planned and unplanned work not only to get equipment on-site set up quickly but safely and efficiently too.

UTMC
The SRL Portable Urban Traffic Management & Control (UTMC) device allows Local Authorities to remotely control temporary systems from the In-Station. With UTMC, you can control stage movements of portable signals within a network of nearby permanent systems, allowing coordination of movement and integrating any street works into the wider city system seamlessly.
Automatic Barriers
INSTABOOM, the UK’s first solar/hybrid, instant deployment, work zone protection vehicle barrier, is now available to hire exclusively from SRL.
We’re pleased to be working in partnership with Solar Gates UK, the award-winning manufacturer of solar and hybrid powered barriers, gates and bollards for security, to deliver this fantastic new product for SRL customers.
We know that many of our traffic management customers have the constant challenge of ensuring safety of their teams on the road. INSTABOOM provides constant security whilst at the same time reducing the pressure on manpower.
The INSTABOOM barrier is fully HSE compliant, UKCA marked and completely mobile, with remote telematics as standard, so perfect for use on highways and SMART motorway projects.
Haul Route Crossing
Perfect for major schemes and projects, haul route crossings allow heavy plant to move around safely and efficiently across public highways and bridleways. SRL are proud to offer customers two different solutions, including the new Haul Route PLUS.
The SRL Haul Route PLUS is an automated barrier control system which gives full control of road / access closure to both private sites and public roads. As with our standard Haul Route Crossing, Haul Route PLUS can have various timings and delays programmed, delivering site-specific configurations, removing the requirement for an operative to observe and control the system, improving efficiency and reducing costs.
What’s more, Haul Route PLUS utilises all-red cameras create a safe area where the potential for conflicts can occur, thereby improving safety for workers and members of the public. The solution integrates multiple barriers with various timings and ANPR and VMS signs to create a safe and fully automated system.
